Lady Lions Lose to Edison State

CENTER LINE, Mich. — The Community Christian College Women's Basketball team battled through a challenging night but came up short in a 76–38 loss to Edison State on Tuesday evening.

Edison State set the pace early, opening the game with a strong first quarter that put the Lady Lions in a deficit they spent the rest of the night working to overcome. Community Christian struggled to find offensive rhythm in the opening half, heading into the break down 37–10.

Despite the score, the Lady Lions responded with renewed energy after halftime. DC3 scored 16 points in the third quarter, its most productive stretch of the night, showing improved ball movement and aggressiveness on both ends of the floor.

Alvion Williams led the way for the Lady Lions, finishing with a team-high 15 points while adding eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks in a high-effort performance. Tices Spicer was a force inside, recording a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, controlling the glass and providing a steady presence in the paint.

Off the bench, Rylee Mott gave Community Christian a lift with 10 points, logging significant minutes and helping maintain offensive pressure during the second half.

Defensively, the Lady Lions competed throughout, forcing turnovers and battling on the boards. Community Christian finished with 37 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards, and continued to contest shots late into possessions. Turnovers proved costly, as Edison State capitalized on transition opportunities to maintain control of the game.

While the final score favored the visitors, the Lady Lions showed resilience and growth, particularly in the second half, as they continue to gain experience and prepare for the remainder of the season. The next game is yet to be determined.
