Lady Lions Rally Late for First Win, Defeat Alpena 63–60

CENTER LINE, Mich. — December 6, 2025
Community Christian College Women's Basketball picked up its first victory of the season in dramatic fashion Saturday afternoon, using a dominant fourth quarter to surge past Alpena Community College 63–60 at Center Line Prep.

The Lady Lions entered the final period trailing 45–42, but their best offensive stretch of the season came at the perfect time. DC3 outscored Alpena 21–15 in the fourth, sparked by improved ball movement, attacking the rim, and persistent defensive pressure.

Alvion Williams led the charge with 17 points and 8 rebounds, providing key buckets during the comeback. Rylee Mott added 15 points, including several strong drives, while Tices Spicer delivered a powerful interior performance with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Defensively, the Lady Lions were relentless. The team tallied 23 steals, turning Alpena over 41 times and forcing difficult possessions all game. Aniysia Lewis (6 steals) and Chancia Williams (5 steals) anchored that pressure.

Community Christian closed the game with poise, hitting timely free throws and securing late rebounds to lock down the result.

The win moves the Lady Lions to 1–5 and gives the group needed momentum heading into their next game on Tuesday, December 9th, at home against Edison State. Tip off is at 5:30pm.
