DC3 Drops Road Contest in West Virginia

KEYSER, WV — Community Christian College Men's Basketball put together its strongest offensive half of the season, but an early deficit proved too much to overcome as the Lions fell 84–72 on the road at WVU Potomac State College on Saturday afternoon.

DC3 trailed 36–26 at halftime before erupting for 46 points in the second half, outscoring the Catamounts after the break. Despite the surge, Community Christian could not fully erase the first-half gap and dropped to 5–12 on the season.

Sophomore guard Trey West led the Lions with a game-high 22 points, adding nine rebounds and two steals while shooting 9-of-19 from the field. West was aggressive throughout, especially in the second half as the Lions pushed the tempo and attacked the paint.

Off the bench, Terrance Hicks provided a major spark, scoring 12 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Kevin Steele Jr. and Gabriel Buttram each chipped in nine points, while Teyshaun Hicks added seven points and three assists.

Community Christian finished with 32 rebounds and forced 17 turnovers, but struggled from long range, shooting 4-of-22 (18.2%) from three-point distance. Free throws also played a role, as the Lions went 12-of-23 at the line.

The Lions will look to carry the momentum from their second-half performance into their next matchup as they continue their schedule into 2026, opening against Marian University Ancilla on the road.
