Men's Basketball Falls at UC Clermont

Batavia, Ohio — December 10, 2025

Community Christian College men's basketball ran into a tough road environment Wednesday night, falling 95–72 at UC Clermont.

The Lions showed offensive balance early, scoring 36 points in the opening half, but UC Clermont's efficiency on the offensive end allowed the Cougars to take a 48–36 advantage into the break. Community Christian continued to compete after halftime, matching its first-half output with another 36 points, but UC Clermont pulled away down the stretch to secure the win.

Gabriel Buttram led all Lions in scoring with a strong performance, finishing with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting while also pulling down nine rebounds. Jack Hogan provided a spark off the bench, knocking down three three-pointers on his way to 11 points, while Teyshaun Hicks added nine points and Terrance Hicks chipped in eight.

Community Christian was active defensively, recording 17 steals and five blocks, with Kajuan Kearney and Nathan Stacy each collecting four steals. The Lions also won the offensive glass battle with 13 offensive rebounds, creating second-chance opportunities throughout the game.

Despite shooting 37.2 percent from the field, Community Christian struggled to keep pace with UC Clermont's scoring runs, particularly in transition and during key stretches of the second half.

The Lions will look to regroup and build on the individual performances as they continue their schedule, playing WVU Potomac State on December 13th.
