Men's Basketball Drops Both Games at Parkland Classic

Game 1 – John Wood CC 74, Community Christian 70

November 29

Community Christian opened tournament play with one of its most complete offensive outings of the season, but a late push came up just short in a 74–70 loss to John Wood.

DC3 saw standout guard play throughout the afternoon. Trey West powered the attack with 25 points, knocking down three triples while balancing scoring with playmaking. Teyshaun Hicks continued his strong stretch with 16 points, attacking efficiently from the field and the perimeter. Off the bench, Nathan Stacy added a major spark with 16 points, giving the Lions critical scoring to fuel the second-half rally.

DC3 trailed by six at halftime but surged in the final 20 minutes, outscoring John Wood 44–42. Despite trimming the deficit to a single possession multiple times in the closing minutes, John Wood's late free throws held off the comeback.

Community Christian finished with four players in double figures and showed strong resolve throughout the second half, setting the stage for the tournament's final day.

Game 2 – Parkland College 100, Community Christian 50

November 30

On Sunday, DC3 ran into a sharp Parkland squad that controlled the game from the opening tip, handing Community Christian a 100–50 defeat to close tournament play.

Parkland's size, pace, and depth created challenges throughout, as the Cobras built a 52–27 lead at the break and continued to separate in the second half. DC3 battled through foul trouble and a challenging shooting day but continued to compete defensively and through its bench rotation.

Despite the setback, Community Christian's overall weekend featured strong individual performances and stretches of efficient team offense—particularly in the opener against John Wood—that the group will look to build on as it returns home and prepares for a road trip to Kirtland Community College, Wednesday, December 3rd at 7:30pm.
