GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Community Christian College Men's Basketball could not overcome a fast Mott Community College start on Saturday, falling 85–50 on the road.
Mott opened the game with a strong first half, taking a 46–21 lead into the break. DC3 showed improved scoring rhythm in the second half with 29 points, but the early deficit proved too steep to climb.
Gabriel Buttram and Trey West led the Lions with 11 points each. Buttram added four rebounds and four steals, while West contributed five boards. TaiQuan Owens posted an efficient 8 points on perfect shooting from the field, along with seven rebounds.
Kevin Steele Jr. provided a spark off the bench with 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Chris Kendrix added 6 points and four assists, and Solomon Parks chipped in 2 points.
Community Christian moves to 3–7 on the season and will look to regroup Monday as they travel to Rochester Christian's JV squad, tip off is at 7pm.
