MBB Wins at Home in Complete Team Effort

DaiQuan Coach and Derald Blackmon teamed up to lead the Community Christian College Lions past Montcalm CC, 92-77, on Saturday. Blackmon scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Coach scored 20 points.

DC3 never trailed in the game. Their biggest lead was by 23 points midway through the first half.

Leading 6-4, The Lions went on a 13-point run to pull further away. Leading 19-8, DC3 went on another run, 14-2. Community Christian got out to a 37-22 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.

Willie Williams scored 11 points in the half, finishing with 17, shooting 60% from the floor.

DC3 was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 22-36 on twos. Williams, Nathan Stacy, and Coach each hit multiple three-pointers for the Lions, while the team shot 11-33 (33%) from beyond the arc. Community Christian attempted 24 free throws, compared to 15 for the Centurions. Our ball pressure forced 16 steals in the game, Terrence Partridge led the team with six steals. Additional scorers for the Lions included Rasheed Spratling (13 points on 5-5 shooting), Stacy (10 points), Partridge (9 points), Andre Forbes (6 points), Trey West (3 points), Gene Hutchins Jr (2 points), and Khamari Harris-Curry (2 points).
