Williams Notches Team-High 18 in Loss at Lansing

LANSING -- Another sluggish start doomed the Community Christian College Men's Basketball team in a 107-88 setback at Lansing CC on Friday. This loss ends the 4-game winning streak.

One of four Lions in double figures, Willie Williams had a team-high 18 points in the loss. Terrence Partridge had 15 points, DaiQuan Coach had 11 and Trey West had 11.

It was neck-and-neck for the first 6 minutes of the game, as the Lions led 11-8. Then, the barrage of scoring came into play as the Stars went on a 16-0 run anchored by 2 3-pointers.

The Lions would attempt to shake that off, but couldn't stop the attack from Lansing as they shot out to a 17-point lead at halftime, 50-33.

In the 2nd half, DC3 would go blow for blow with LCC, but they couldn't afford for them to shoot 67% in the 2nd half, which unfortunately became the result. Lansing would also shoot 50% from 3, as the Lions would struggle to transition out of the full-court press once the Stars beat it.

Lansing would continue to score to keep the Lions away, and they improved to 5-2 on the season. DC3 fell to 4-2.

They have no time to settle down, as they have a game less than 24 hours later against Montcalm CC in the Lions Den. Tip off is set for Saturday, 3pm at The Dearborn Academy, tickets are $5.
