Football Finds Victory in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Community Christian College Football team traveled down to its sister school, Jacksonville Athletic Academy, who also operates under the CCC umbrella, and won 26-14 Saturday afternoon. The Lions move to 3-5 on the season.
The scoring started for Detroit on a run from 7 yards out to tie the game at 6 apiece in the 2nd Quarter. Later, with less than 2 minutes before halftime, Ryshon Thomas scored on a quick catch-and-run for a 30-yard score. The Lions went into halftime up 12-6.
In the 3rd Quarter, after allowing Jacksonville to score and take the lead at 14-12, an end-around in the red zone gave Detroit the lead, followed by a QB keeper to go up 20-14 going into the 4th.
Near the tail end of the game, a Lions defensive back intercepted JAA and took it back to the house to seal the deal.
The Lions are on the road again this weekend, facing Community Christian College in California at 3PM Eastern.
